Job Description

Responsibilities: Support the MSDgen software suite for those customers using the software in Japan and potentially other countries within Asia. Also provide periodic demonstrations of the software to those companies that have an interest in the product. Responsibilities include: becoming fully proficient in MSDgen, the ability to demonstrate and explain the features from the user's perspective, providing technical support for users of the system, and working with the support staff in the United States to configure the software according to customer specifications.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Information Technology. A background in the area of regulatory compliance issues will be helpful.
MSDgen is a robust enterprise style software package that is used by companies around the world for the management of chemical related data and the ultimate production of hazard communication documents such as Safety Data Sheets, Product Labels, Workplace Safety Sheets, Transport documents. The software supports the generation of documents in over 40 languages, for over 100 countries, and supports a multilingual user interface that can be used at multiple locations by global companies.

Requirements:
• University Degree in Information Technology preferred. However, individuals with a strong IT background and a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field will be considered as well.
• Must be fluent in both Japanese and English.
• The successful candidate will have strong people skills and a sense of professional curiosity to understand the issues that clients have with the system.
• Teamwork is essential, as is the willingness to travel within Japan, Asia Pacific, as well as to the US.
• Familiar with the authoring of Safety Data Sheets, as well as other safety documents, preferably on an automated software platform, such as SAP EH&S, Wercs, MSDgen, ProSteward, etc.
• It will also be essential to stay current on regulatory changes and software enhancements.

The position is intended to be based in Tokyo, but skilled candidates residing in other major Japanese cities will be considered as well. For this position in Japan, we offer a competitive local salary.
